Christopher C. Evans, O.D. joined Mississippi Vision in October 2012. As a medical optometrist, he is able to diagnose and treat ocular conditions, including dry eye, allergy, infection and glaucoma. He performs pre and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery and is also trained for eyelash and superficial foreign body removal. In addition to his patient duties, Dr. Evans serves as a liaison between the clinic and local optometric providers and helps coordinate continuing education and outreach programs.
Originally from the Florida panhandle, Dr. Evans did his undergraduate work at Auburn University before obtaining a B.S. in Physiological Optics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. He also completed a residency in ocular disease. Dr. Evans has also served as a preceptor for the Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Evans is a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church and resides in Northeast Jackson. He has been a member of the American Optometric Association and the Mississippi Optometric Association for over twenty five years. He enjoys travel, literature, and architecture and participates in several local charitable organizations.
