Our Tribute To Dr. Aden

It is with profound sadness that Mississippi Vision announces the passing of our beloved founder and eyecare visionary, Dr. William Mangum Aden.  Dr. Aden dedicated his professional life to ophthalmology, earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi in 1966 and his medical degree from the same institution in 1970.  His pursuit of knowledge continued with residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, shaping him into the exceptional physician we knew and admired.  A distinguished career in private practice, memberships in prestigious organizations, and board certification in ophthalmology reflected his unwavering commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Aden was known for his warm and compassionate nature, touching the lives of countless patients and colleagues.  He was also a scratch croquet player and enjoyed sharing the game with family and friends.

As we mourn the loss of our founder, mentor, and friend, we remember the indelible mark he left on Mississippi Vision and the entire eyecare community. Dr. Aden’s dedication to patient care, professional excellence, and kind-hearted nature are the heart of Mississippi Vision’s mission, and we are honored to continue the legacy he began.  May Dr. William Aden’s memory continue to inspire us to uphold the values and standards he held dear.

Mississippi Vision will be closed Monday, October 9, 2023 in memory of Dr. Aden and to allow our team the opportunity to mourn with his family.
